ANGELFISH, FRENCH Pomacanthus paru The attractive juveniles, black with gold vertical stripes, are often seen singly in other species' shoals off the reefs. The adults are usually in pairs and come quite close, tilting their bodies to survey you soberly from a gold rimmed eye in their pale blue heads. Fish in the intermediate stage of acquiring yellow edged scales and losing their stripes can also be seen. |
