BOXFISH, ISLAND / "HOGFISH" Acanthostracion notacanthus The 'helicopter fish' was our nickname, as its side fins make a circular motion. It changes colour from a pretty pale turquoise when over sand to darker blues or even browns and fawns. Usually seen singly or in pairs. It never comes too close, and is sometimes called a cowfish because of its two 'horns'. |
