SOLDIERFISH, BLACKBAR / "SOFTBACK or BASTARD SOLDIER" Myripristis jacobus Attractive small to medium sized red fishes with a black bar between their heads and bodies, they are seen in groups in caves and under ledges in the reef. They often mix with Squirrelfish and St. Helena Butterflyfish, the blue / grey and gold with the red being lovely to see.
