A
third phase of volcanic activity produced the red-brown craters that
are a feature of the northern part of the island.

East Crater and Holland's Crater later became known as Broken Tooth and Hollow Tooth, appropriate to their profiles. |
|
|
|
|
This
phase also produced The Sisters, a beautiful range to the east of
Georgetown, and from here came the latest lava flow on the island.

It is a black mass of tumbled rock thrown out between 500 and 700 years ago, and still not a scrap of vegetation grows upon it. |
