A third phase of volcanic activity produced the red-brown craters that are a feature of the northern part of the island.

East Crater and Holland's Crater later became known as Broken Tooth and Hollow Tooth, appropriate to their profiles.

This phase also produced The Sisters, a beautiful range to the east of Georgetown, and from here came the latest lava flow on the island.

It is a black mass of tumbled rock thrown out between 500 and 700 years ago, and still not a scrap of vegetation grows upon it.
